UNDATED (AP) _ Oklahoma may be 1,400 miles from New York City's Ground Zero, but state farmers and ranchers are preparing for the threat of agri-terrorism.
A working group in the state was created last year after meetings between state agriculture officials, the FBI and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Oklahoma Agriculture Secretary Terry Peach says he requested the meeting because he was concerned about the potential for terrorism in the agriculture community.
The working group is comprised of 41 entities, including federal, state and local authorities, academic experts and representatives from a host of producer groups.
The group meets quarterly and plans to unveil a Web site and host an agri-terrorism conference.
