FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) _ The casino at Pocola in eastern Oklahoma is planning an expansion that will include a parking lot on the Arkansas side of the state line.
The Choctaw Casino is to spend $10-million to add 10,000 square-feet of interior space and the new parking area.
Included in the expansion will be 300 gambling machines, 18 poker tables, a space for live performances and an expanded space for off-track betting.
The casino has 400 workers and up to 300 more positions will be added though casino officials wouldn't say how many will be full-time workers.
The parking area on the Arkansas side will be used for recreational vehicles and overflow parking. The casino says it owns 15 acres in Arkansas, contiguous with its parcel in Oklahoma.
