The Tulsa Area United Way held its 15th annual Day of Caring Friday.
With nearly 4,000 volunteers working on close to 500 different projects, Tulsa's Day of caring is the largest single-day volunteer event in the nation.
Volunteers did everything from plant flowers to read to children and remodel houses. Kay Webb with American Airlines: "It lets the community know that there is a need out there and it's important that we keep our community healthy and this is one way to do it."
Friday's event kicked off the Tulsa Area United Way's 82nd fundraising campaign.
The 2006 goal is to raise more than $22-million. They'll announce their total in November.
