OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma City University annouces that baseball coach Denney Crabaugh will be inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame.
Crabaugh has been OCU's head coach for 18 seasons. He guided the Stars to the 2005 NAIA title and to four straight appearances in the national championship game from 2002 to 2005.
During Crabaugh's tenure OCU has produced four NAIA players of the year and two major-league players, Freddy Sanchez of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chris Schroder of the Washington Nationals.
Crabaugh's record at OCU is 879-290-2. The Stars won 73 games during the 2004 season, setting an NAIA record.
He will be inducted into the NAIA hall on January 5, 2007, during the American Baseball Coaches Association convention in Orlando, Florida.
Crabaugh also was an NAIA pitcher, tossing a pair of no-hitters for Southeastern Oklahoma State University as a senior in 1980.
