TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Preparations are continuing in Tulsa for next week's visit of world-renowned opera singer Luciano Pavarotti.

Pavarotti will kick off the North American leg of his 40-city worldwide farewell tour with a concert at Tulsa's Mabee Center on Saturday, September 17th.

Construction crews already have started work on a huge custom stage that includes a full dressing room. Over the next week, equipment and technicians from around the world are expected to arrive in Tulsa.

The world tour stops in Dublin, Ireland, and Duesseldorf, Germany, before arriving in the US. The only other North American dates on Pavarotti's tour are in Los Angeles and in Sunrise, Florida.
