OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma state House chief of staff plans to resign from his position.
House spokesman Damon Gardenhire said Tuesday night that Doug Enevoldsen told state House Speaker Todd Hiett about his desire for a new challenge and plans to quit.
Gardenhire says Chad Warmington will assume the role of chief of staff when Enevoldsen leaves the state House sometime in September.
Gardenhire says Enevoldsen told Hiett that some of the recent inquiries and opportunities about his experience in the executive and municipal management had led him to start thinking about new challenges.
Enevoldsen couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Gardenhire says Enevoldsen will help his successor get settled before leaving.
