OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ About 15 officials from Iraq will visit Oklahoma later this year as part of a higher education program with four state universities.

Professors from Iraqi universities and officials from the country's oil and education ministries will visit Oklahoma in September.

The 15 visitors will arrive in Norman on September 4th. Eleven government officials will return to Iraq a week later, but four professors will remain at the university for two more weeks.

The University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Cameron and Langston universities are taking part in the program. It's funded by a five million-dollar grant from the US Agency for International Development.

One University of Oklahoma official says he hopes the visit will lead to joint projects between petroleum engineers from Iraq and Oklahoma.
