DURANT, Okla. (AP) _ The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified two people killed in a fiery crash in southeastern Oklahoma as an Oklahoma woman and an Arkansas man.
Dead are Velma Jean Gibbs of Broken Bow and Phil Watkins of Vandervoort, Arkansas.
Troopers say the two were killed just after 6 Wednesday evening on State Highway 3 near Golden in southwestern McCurtain County.
Troopers say the car driven by Gibbs pulled out of a private drive onto the highway and into the path of a tractor-trailer driven by Watkins.
The rig wound up on top of the car and both caught fire. The body of Gibbs was trapped in her car for nearly four hours and Watkins' body was trapped in the rig for nearly four-and-a-half hours.
