OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ State Representative Thad Balkman is criticizing a letter asking for donations to support a proposal to increase the tax on gasoline and diesel.
The letter from the Association of Oklahoma General Contractors asks for additional donations and says all will see ``some return on investment.''
Balkman says use of the word ``investment'' shows the contractors only want to raise taxes to make a profit.
The proposal would increase the tax on gas by five cents per gallon and the tax on diesel by eight cents per gallon with the money to be used for road and bridge repair.
The proposal will be decided in a statewide election on September 13th.
