A Green Country man is in jail for allegedly assaulting a seven month old child. It's a story unfolding out of Colcord, in Delaware County.

27-year-old Tommy Lee Williams was arrested after the baby's mother told officers he abused her child. Authorities accuse Williams of slamming the girl's face into the steering wheel of a vehicle.

The infant was treated at an Arkansas hospital for bruises to her head, face and torso.

Williams' bond is set at $1-million.
