Months after it's closing, Sapulpa's world-famous Frankoma Pottery reopened over the weekend.
The company, which has made pottery since the 1930s, had financial problems and has been closed since December. A Las Vegas ceramics maker just bought the company and plans to open the doors for a half a day tomorrow and all day on the fourth to usher in a new beginning.
New owner Bet Merryman says Frankoma's designs have become one of America's most recognized "collectable potteries."
"The designs are incredible it has a tremendous existing product line and a base of collectors in the united states that is virtually unbelievable."
Frankoma will offer discounts this weekend for Sapulpa residents and newcomers. A larger scale "grand opening" is scheduled for August.
