OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Authorities say an Oklahoma City police officer was hospitalized after his motorcycle was bumped while he tried to stop a speeding driver.
Sergeant Ron Ritter was working speed enforcement on Interstate 40 near the Interstate 35 junction yesterday morning when he attempted to pull over two cars traveling east on I-40.
Sergeant Greg Giltner -- a police spokesman -- says one of the motorists changed lanes and bumped the motorcycle, causing Ritter to wreck. Giltner says the driver of the car that bumped the motorcycle left the scene and the other stopped.
Giltner says Ritter's injuries weren't life threatening.
Giltner says the driver of the car allegedly involved in the accident -- 39 year old Carlos Antonio Tecumseh -- was later stopped and arrested.
He's being held at the Oklahoma County jail on an $11,000 bond for felony leaving the scene of an injury accident.
