Traffic is moving smoothly again along I-44 after a Wednesday morning mess.

A truck dropped a fine powdery substance known as fly ash on the interstate near 193rd East Avenue in Catoosa.

Westbound traffic on I-44 was narrowed to one lane for a short time and traffic was backed for a couple of miles while crews tried to clean up the powder. The powder was as deep as three inches in some places.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation had to use sweeper trucks to clean up the mess.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers have identified the trucking company responsible for the spill.
