MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- The Muskogee man who provided the tip leading to the identification of a girl found decapitated in Kansas City, Missouri, in 2001 received a $14,000 reward Monday.

81-year-old Thurmon McIntosh was presented with the check Monday in Muskogee by Kansas City activist Alvin Brooks and police Major Anthony Ell.

The headless body of the girl was found in Kansas City in April 2001, her head was found a few days later and she came to be known only as Precious Doe.

McIntosh spent about a year telling Kansas City police he knew the girl's identity and who killed her. Police finally followed up on the tip in late April and within days identified her as Erica Michelle Green and arrested the girl's mother and the mother's husband on charges of killing her.

Michelle and Harrell Johnson are now jailed in Kansas City on charges of murder and child endangerment.
