The son of a Wagoner city judge is in jail after Broken Arrow Police raided their home and say they found a marijuana growing operation. 20 year old David Anthony Saffari was taken into custody.

News on 6 reporter Steve Berg says Broken Arrow Police say a tip led them to set up surveillance on the house in a quiet, upscale Broken Arrow neighborhood a few days ago. Thursday night, they say they saw Saffari leaving the house in the 6400 block of East Dallas and pulled him over on a traffic stop.

They say they found some marijuana in the car and later served a search warrant on the house. Charges are pending against Saffari for cultivation of marijuana, possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of paraphernalia. Inside the house, police say they found a growing operation with marijuana in plain view in several rooms including the living room, hallway, and bathroom.

Broken Arrow Police Captain Paul Kroutter: "When they executed the search warrant at the residence, they found 12 marijuana plants, two handguns, an assortment of processed marijuana, and loose marijuana."

Police also referred charges to the District Attorney's office against Saffari's mother, Karen Saffari, a Wagoner attorney and city judge, but the DA says he does "not" plan to file charges.

Police say they observed her going in and out of the house during their surveillance, but the District Attorney says she was "not" there at the time of the raid and that she has denied knowing anything about the marijuana.
