Men might think they know what goes on at a lingerie party, but they don't, and women won't tell. The parties are for ladies only.
News on 6 reporter Omar Villafranca did some "investigative" work to expose the secret of one Tulsa business that's been around for 10 years. What he found out was quite revealing. Nane Tolson with For Ladies Only: "Most men don't know what goes on at a lingerie party, we've heard things from men like 'you're going to a lingerie party? Are you going to be wearing lingerie?"
No, they aren't wearing lingerie, but they are having a good time. Nane says that Tulsa sits in the heart of the Bible belt, but that sometimes her customers like to loosen up that belt. "It's like 'What is it exactly that you sell?' And then of course when we get into details, they're like 'Really, could I have a card?"
For the past ten years, Nane Tolson has run "For Ladies Only". She was nice enough to let me stand in at one of the parties and guys, it was pretty tame. And it's profitable. Her consultants do pretty well, making $50 to $100 an hour, selling a variety of things to touch, taste and rub on your body. 40-percent of the sales are lotions and potions like these bath salts or this massage video, the other 40-percent are adult toys and novelties, like these furry handcuffs and some other things we can't show you. The rest is lingerie and they're all housed in Tulsa for quick delivery.
Nane says breaking the taboo of her business wasn't hard, because she believes there's nothing naughty about her work. “The only thing that is naughty about what we do is what's in that person's head. It has nothing to do about the product or us."
For Ladies Only doesn't just do parties in Tulsa. They also do business in several surrounding states.
