A Tulsa teacher faces a number of felonies after Broken Arrow Police say he tried to sell illegal steroids to an undercover officer.

Scott Moody taught at Webster High School and coached girls' volleyball, boys' golf, and was an assistant coach for the boys' basketball team.

Broken Arrow Police arrested him Friday. Now, Broken Arrow Police officers say the drugs Moody is accused of peddling and explain why it was ending up in the hands of high schoolers.

News on 6 anchor Scott Thompson says Broken Arrow Street Crimes officers say they got on Scott Moody's trail after they questioned Broken Arrow students who were caught using illegal steroids. Those students said they bought the drugs from Moody.

Police say Moody tried to sell an undercover officer 10 bottles of steroids, and two bottles of Xanax, with a street value in the thousands. They say Moody confessed to driving to Mexico to pick up the drugs, then driving back to Oklahoma to sell them to body builders, athletes and high school students. They say Moody was also carrying $6,000 in cash, which they believe are proceeds from other sales.

Undercover officers think Moody's arrest will make buying illegal steroids in Oklahoma a lot harder. Broken Arrow Police Sgt Brandon Gilstrap: "For the past several months it hasn't been hard at all."

Moody's one-year contract with Webster High School was up this month. The school says it wasn't planning to renew it, even before his arrest.
