Time is running out in this year's Oklahoma legislative session and a lot still needs to be done. 200 pieces of legislation are still awaiting consideration.

Some key issues lawmakers are pushing to get to the state House or state Senate floor before they adjourn next week include, the budget, worker's comp reform, tax relief and a prescription drug bill.

Analysts say this is pretty typical, but electing a new Senate President Pro Tem and having Democrats in control of the state Senate and Republicans controlling the state House has slowed things down some. Political analyst Scott Mitchell: â€œthere are partisan considerers in this that haven't been in consideration before. You have a leadership change in the middle of session, all of these things have made it to where major policy decisions won't be done until the last couple three days.â€

Both state House and state Senate leaders say they're confident everything will get done on time.

In fact, a joint news conference was held Monday to announce a compromise on a road and bridge funding bill.
