OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A professional skating exhibition scheduled for Oklahoma City may end up in Edmond because of Oklahoma City's helmet law.
The event is sponsored by the skate shop Fast Forward and pro street Skaters from Team Foundation are to visit the store June 14th for autographs and a demonstration. Store manager Amy Lavender wants the exhibition at a skate park in Oklahoma City where helmets are required.
City Parks Commissioners say they're reluctant to allow the event if the pro skaters refuse to wear helmets.
Lavender says the pro skaters take responsibility for their own safety, but says she'll probably move the event to Edmond where the skate park recommends, but doesn't require, helmets for skaters.
