Many of Tulsa's bravest were honored today for giving their lives in the line of duty. A memorial service was held Saturday morning for the 39 Tulsa Police officers who've been killed in the line of duty since 1917.
The memorial features a "Wall of Memory" with the names of each of the fallen officers. There's also a statue of an officer handing a folded flag to the child of an officer who was killed.
Oklahoma House Representative Lucky Lamons, a former Tulsa officer was there for Saturday's ceremony. "This has been talked about for years and for the Grace of God and people who've put their heart and soul in to this memorial, it has really become a shining example of what a community can do for their law enforcement people. So, I'm very proud to say I'm from Tulsa."
The memorial is one of the largest in the country, second only to the "National" Police Memorial in Washington DC.
