BLANCHARD, Okla. (AP) _ Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Blanchard are looking to return eight headstones to the graves where they belong.
VFW commander Eldon Cook says the stones have been found on the side of roads, in abandoned houses and in an old veterans hall. He says one dates to 1939.
Cook says the stones have no information saying where they came from and they could belong anywhere in Oklahoma or even another state.
He says if the proper graves aren't found, the headstones will be melted down and used to make new markers for veterans.
