OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Governor Brad Henry Tuesday afternoon appointed state Finance Director Scott Meacham as state treasurer to fill out the unexpired term of Robert Butkin.

Henry also appointed Claudia San Pedro to replace Meacham. San Pedro served as Meacham's deputy as director of the finance office's budget division.

Butkin is resigning as treasurer to become dean of the law school at the University of Tulsa.

Meacham says he plans to run for a full term as treasurer in 2006.
