The News on 6 has learned the burglary suspect shot by a Muskogee police officer this weekend, is related to a murder suspect in Tulsa.

24 year old Deshawn Smith was shot and killed during a struggle with Officer Perry Galvin earlier Sunday morning.

Smith is the brother of Leroy Smith, who is charged with two murders at the "This and That" Hardware store last month on North Lewis in Tulsa.

The Muskogee Police officer involved in the incident continues to recover at a Tulsa hospital.
