OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A Texas painting contractor has been sentenced Friday to two years in prison for illegally disposing of lead-contaminated waste in Oklahoma.
A judge in Oklahoma City also ordered Nick Muskie of Kerrville to pay $100,000 in restitution
Muskie pleaded guilty to felony unlawful disposal of hazardous waste while sandblasting and painting a bridge in Okmulgee County.
Muskie's sentence will run concurrently with a federal prison sentence he's serving on charges of illegally disposing of sandblasting waste in Arkansas.
Muskie and his company, Kerrville Painting, were charged an Oklahoma transportation inspector saw workers dump buckets of blasting waste on the ground railroad tracks.
One worker told investigators that 60 to 70 buckets of the waste were dumped and that Muskie ordered them to do it.
