Every lane is full, the balls are rolling and the pins are falling. The Womens International Bowling Congress is here. And you only need to look as far as the t-shirts to see these bowlers come from all over.
Every state is represented here at the WIBC tournament. And even a few foreign countries, England, the Caribbean, Canada and Japan, they all have teams here. And thousands are visiting the Sooner State for the first time.
Margo Collins, Missouri Bowler: "well its my first trip so I think its really fine. Its nice the hospitality is great everyone has been real friendly even in the restaurants and every where we've been."
Barbara Shaw, Oregon Bowler: "oh we love it we love it and we've been so impressed by the buildings."
Although they're here to bowl, these ladies haven't been glued to the lanes.
Bonnie Cox, Colorado Bowler: "we did a lot of shopping they've got a big western store so we did a lot of shopping there."
Margo Collins: "and your famous elmer's barbecue we got to that."
Tulsa got high marks across the board except for one complaint from some of the ladies who are used to a drier climate.
Diane Keener, Nebraska Bowler: "Its a little different bowling in humid weather but other than that. they fixed that from yesterday. They didnt have the fans on so it got a little sticky. but other than that everything's been all right."
Many of these bowlers have been to more than 20 WIBC tournaments across the nation. But some say this is one of the best yet.
Barbara Shaw: "Great, great. The scenery its just been terrific."
Betty Henry: "its been one of the best the hospitality like we said and usually we find very friendly people in the cities we've been to."
Organizers hope the other 40,000 bowlers set to come through town will feel the same way.
