An on-line push to bring business to Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Department of Commerce says the state might have dropped the ball on recruiting businesses, but they say the key to attracting new business might be in cyberspace.

News on 6 anchor Terry Hood explains how the state is betting a new web site could turn the tide. The Oklahoma Department of Commerce says when businesses look to expand or relocate, 80 percent of their search is done "on-line."

Until now, they say "Oklahoma's" web site hasn't been up to snuff and the state may have been off the radar for many successful businesses. Now, they hope all that's changed with the launch of OkCommerce.gov.

They call it a one-stop tool kit for large and small businesses considering the Sooner state. It's got information about with licenses, permits and building guides right at your fingertips.

Secretary of Commerce Kathy Taylor: "24-7, people have access to our website and our product, which is the great workforce and education system and geography of the state of Oklahoma."

The site already is having success. Taylor says at least one company called her office after checking out the new web site and has scheduled a visit to the state.
