A Green Country soldier wanted by the Army for desertion was arrested over the weekend.

Staff Sergeant Theresa Russell was arrested in Henryetta Sunday. The military says she failed to return after a two-week leave. She says she had a medical problem that needed to be taken care of and she filed the proper paperwork.

Russell is being held in the Okmulgee County jail until the US Army decides what to do.
