VALLIANT, Okla. (AP) _ The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a missing McCurtain County family has been discovered safe in New Jersey.

The OSBI issued a missing persons report Wednesday for Edwin Alvarado senior of Valliant, his wife Donivet and their children Jasmine, Edwin junior and Joshua.

OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown says the family was discovered in New Jersey. A family member had reported the five were abducted from their home in Valliant last week, but Brown says that may have been a false report.

Brown says the investigation is continuing, but that the family may have gone voluntarily.
