NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ The University of Oklahoma's Jimmie Austin-OU Golf Course will host one of the top amateur golf championships in the nation.

The course has been selected for the 2009 US Amateur Public Links championships, which is known as the Publinx.

The tournament is for public-course players with a handicap of eight-point-four or lower and is considered the second biggest amateur event after the US Amateur.

The Austin course has previously hosted a 1997 NCAA Regional and the 1998 Big 12 women's golf championship.
