Dozens of Oklahomans devastated by recent wildfires will soon be getting help to rebuild their homes. 26 counties are now earmarked for FEMA assistance.

It was just a few weeks ago when a 200-acre wildfire stole Yvonne Harshaw's memories and her children's home. At first, Muskogee County wasn't on the disaster list and the Harshaw's didn't know what to do. Now, things are looking up for the family and others like them, after a visit from FEMA.

Yvonne Harshaw: "we plan on rebuilding and starting over again. That's the only thing we can do."

Federal teams are contacting residents who lost property in the fires and helping them apply for financial assistance.

The Harshaws are expecting some FEMA funds in about a week. Harshaw says she's overwhelmed by the response from the public, so many people asking what they can do for the family.
