Spirit Aerosystems wins Boeing contract for 747-8 parts
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Spirit Aerosystems _ which has plants in Tulsa and McAlester _ is being awarded a contract to design and build engine pylons and nacelle components for Boeing's new 747-8 plane.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Spirit Aerosystems _ which has plants in Tulsa and McAlester _ is being awarded a contract to design and build engine pylons and nacelle components for Boeing's new 747-8 plane.
Spirit was formed when the Canadian firm Onex bought Boeing's commercial aircraft operations in Tulsa, McAlester and Wichita, Kansas, last June.
Spirit builds parts for every Boeing commercial aircraft except the 717 and has a total of about 1,000 employees in Tulsa and McAlester.
