Dozens of firefighters spent Sunday battling a fire which stretched from 76th Street North to nearly 116th Street North between Sheridan and Memorial.
The fire threatened several homes, including a new subdivision, near Collinsville. Several people in that neighborhood were felt the heat.
They pulled out garden hoses and turned on sprinkler systems. Homeowner Jerrod Hart: "when you look out your back window and you see that its at your back fence ya'know you just try to grab what's most important and get everything you can out, starting with the most important which is family."
Fire crews were able to keep the flames at bay and keep the neighborhood safe.
Another fire in north Tulsa County scorched a track about three and half miles long. It took some daring work on the ground and quite a few soakings from the skies to get it under control.
