Suspect dies after being shot by Kingston Police officer

KINGSTON, Okla. (AP) -- Kingston police say a felony suspect who resisted arrest and tried to run over an officer was shot and killed by an officer near Lake Texoma.

Officer Nathan Calloway says the officer was trying to arrest the suspect at a motel near Lake Texoma Lodge when the man ran to a pickup truck then tried to run over the officer. The officer then drew his pistol and opened fire.

The suspect died later at a hospital.

The names of the man and the officer haven't been released. Calloway says the suspect was wanted for violating his probation by evading arrest.
