TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Tulsa-based Williams Companies is asking for permission to expand its pipeline that carries natural gas to the northeastern United States.
Williams is asking the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to let it increase the capacity of the Transco pipeline by expanding facilities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The $121-million project includes adding about 12 miles of pipe and replacing about three miles of pipe.
Williams hopes to begin construction on the project in January 2007 and complete it by November 2007.
