OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- More than 1.2-million income tax rebate checks totaling $92-million will be on the way to Oklahoma households in the next few days.

Governor Brad Henry said Tuesday the checks will provide additional money for Oklahoma families to spend in any way they please.

Henry and state Treasurer Scott Meacham displayed a sample copy of a tax rebate check at a news conference.

Every Oklahoma resident who paid income taxes last year will get a rebate.

The only exceptions are those who were inmates in the custody of the Corrections Department, residents who filed as an individual taxpayer and claimed zero personal exemptions and nonresidents or part-year residents who filed a 511 non-resident tax return.

For taxpayers filing as a surviving spouse, head of household or married filing jointly in 2004, the checks will be $90.

For taxpayers filing as an individual or married filing separately in 2004, the payments will be $45.
