Fighting those dangerous fires across northeastern Oklahoma was even harder with Sunday's powerful winds. Strong winds knocked down power lines, creating a dangerous situation with the lines arcing on the ground, and setting the dry grass on fire.

The city of Tulsa saw wind gusts up to 61 miles per hour and many of those fortunate enough to miss the fires are picking up the pieces after significant wind damage.

News on 6 anchor Scott Thompson says we've gotten reports of damage all over the area. A number of trees were downed in Sunday's blustery winds. Street lights, roofs and fences were victims of Sundayâ€™s wind storm.

Along I-244, the wind tore apart a billboard, and left the banner wrapped around a nearby tree.

Further south in Broken Arrow, the roof of an Allstate agents' office was unhinged and blown into the street by the wind. 7 year old Winchell Gallardo: "He just saw the back of the roof going like a wave, and he kept watching it and then he saw it stood up two times, and came back down the third time and it flipped over and took up one lane of Main Street."

The Gallardoâ€™s estimate repairs to their insurance agency will run more than $7,000.

Of course, along with dealing with their own damage, the insurance agents have been flooded by others with wind damage claims of their own.
