Tulsa will soon have a new K9 police officer thanks to a big donation Thursday.

Milk-Bone partnered with Walgreen’s to donate $5,000 to the Tulsa Police canine unit. The donation is part of an on-going effort to by the companies to support local law enforcement and security preparedness nationwide.

Scott Richardson with Milk-Bone: "That $5,000 goes along way in making purchase of these dogs, they run anywhere from $4,500 to $8,000."

Tulsa Police will retire one of their K9 officers soon because of medical problems. They will use the money to get a new dog sometime next year.
