Avid golfers know the sport has no season. Oh sure, the courses are more crowded in the summer, but golf is played year round. So opening a golf superstore in Tulsa in November makes perfect sense.

There are lots of golf shops in the Tulsa area. Golf Galaxy may be the one that has so much of it in one place. Larry Ness with Golf Galaxy: "That is actually what we are trying to accomplish, the pro shop for everybody." The employees are learning how to help golfers build custom clubs if they want. â€œHe can come in here buy the shaft the head the grips gripping tape and put it together himself or we can do it here."

One of the club heads ought to be right for me, but which one. Well, there's high tech equipment to help figure that out. A ball flight analyzer will help determine the right club as well as the right kind of golf ball to get the most out of a swing. They can even fix that.

There is a PGA golf professional on the staff and you can take golf lessons and get a video analysis. Golf pro Brian Hughes: "Not bad but you can really see you hanging back." So I need do a better job of shifting my weight he says and he gave me an exercise to help. "As you swing, take your left foot, baby step and swing through."

They've got clubs clothes gloves bags balls and hoes. Theyâ€™ve got your OSU and OU gear and gear from other schools too. Now all I need is to find a little more time to play and I know just who to see to get it.

Golf Galaxy is on 71st Street near Mingo and it opens on Friday.
