Court hearing set on exhumation request of a Tulsa woman

VINITA, Okla. (AP) -- A hearing will be next Friday in Vinita on the state medical examiner's office's request to exhume the body of a Tulsa woman who may have been killed by a newspaper deliveryman.

Authorities want to examine the body of 75-year-old Geraldine Lawhorn, who died September 28th and is buried in Vinita.

The hearing will give Lawhorn's family the chance to object to the exhumation.

Former Tulsa World newspaper carrier Paul Williford[pictured] has told police he killed Lawhorn and 73-year-old Donna Stauffer. He made the confession after being arrested for attacking and trying to rape a woman on his newspaper route

All three women lived on Williford's route.

Both Lawhorn and Stauffer were believed to have died of natural causes and Stauffer's body was cremated.

Williford remains jailed on more than $1-million bond.
