Kiefer High School band a ' Battle of the Bands' winner

A Green Country high school band is $1,000 richer, thanks to Jim Norton Chevrolet and the News on 6, Battle of the Bands competition.

The News on 6 handed out the first check Thursday morning to the Kiefer Trojan Marching Band. They were our Class A winners. News on 6 reporter Omar Villafranca surprised the band while they were practicing. Students thought they were practicing for a post office grand opening.

Kiefer band director Rob Brown: â€œAll week long I've had kids and teachers asking me when are we going, when are we going to get back, what classes are they going to miss, I tried to answer truthfully and I told them I don't have all the information yet, so it's been a lot of tap dancing."

The News on 6 has several thousand more dollars to give away and your band could be the next winner.
