ATLANTA (AP) -- Cable provider Cox Communications has agreed to sell some of its assets in Oklahoma and other states.
The assets involving 940,000 subscribers will be sold to a cable television operator run by a Midwest management firm, Cebridge Connections. Once the deal is complete, Cebridge says it will be the eighth largest cable operator in the country, serving more than 1.3-million customers.
Cox announced in March that it was exploring the sale of these operations in order to reduce debt and accelerate growth.
Cox officials say the agreement includes cable television systems in Muskogee, Enid, Stillwater, Pauls Valley, Wynnewood, Chickasha, Alva and Blackwell.
Cox is the nation's third-largest cable television provider.
