OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoman has been elected national president of the FFA.
Former state FFA president Travis Jett of Laverne was elected Saturday at the national FFA convention in Louisville, Kentucky, to a one year term as head of the 490,000 member organization.
The 20-year-old Jett is currently a student at Oklahoma State majoring in agricultural economics and begins his term December 1st.
The duties include business and industry tours, a trip to Japan and attending state FFA conventions nationwide.
Jett is the seventh Oklahoman elected national FFA president, the most in the nation. He's the 16th Oklahoman to be elected to national office.
