The Craig County Sheriff wants to re-interview a Miami man, convicted of murder in Alabama, to see if he had anything to do with the murder of a Welch couple in 1999.

Sheriff Jimmie Sooter says he believes Jeremy Jones may have had something to do with the disappearance of Ashley Freeman and Lauria Bible and the murders of Freeman's parents. Jones was convicted of the brutal rape and murder of an Alabama grandmother earlier this week. Thursday night the jury recommended Jones die for the crime.

Jeremy Jones: "Did you see how I got treated with my family out there. They weren’t even allowed to look at me. They were told not to look at me or they'll be removed from the courtroom. I was even told by the jailers not to look at them, smile at them, say nothing, wink at them. Don't do a damn thing."

Sheriff Sooter says at one time, Jones confessed to killing the Freemans and dumping Ashley and Lauria's bodies in an abandoned mine in Kansas.

A search of those Kansas mines back in June turned up nothing.
