AMBER, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a body believed to be that of a missing Houston woman was found Tuesday in Grady County.
OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown says authorities are waiting for a positive identification from the state medical examiner, but believe the remains are that of Sheril Susan Moore.
Moore left Houston to escape Hurricane Rita and was heading to her son's home in Golden, Colorado. She was last seen about midnight September 23rd when she was stopped by Newcastle police.
She said she was lost and was given directions to Interstate 44.
Her Ford Explorer was found in Grady County by a farmer last Friday in a creek bed about 300 yards from the road.
