Witnesses couldn't believe their eyes when they saw a small plane using a major interstate as a landing strip.

It happened yesterday near Durant on Highway 75.

Five people were on board the single engine Cessna when the aircraft had engine failure.

A motorist saw the pilot planning to use the highway as a landing strip, so he blocked traffic with his truck.

The plane landed safely.

There's no word on what caused the engine problems.
