NEW YORK (AP) -- Oklahoma native Garth Brooks will be among the performers at the Grand Ole Opry's 80th birthday party bash Saturday in Nashville, Tennessee.

Brooks has performed at several charity events since he announced his retirement in 2000.

The 43-year-old singer remains retired from performing, but the Opry says he'll perform in the 80th birthday celebration to pay tribute to the Opry and its heritage.

The show will be broadcast on the Great American Country network.
