OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The State Medical Examiner's office has ruled the death of a 2-year-old Meeker girl was a homicide.

Investigator Kevin Rowland says Kelsey Shelton Smith Briggs died of blunt force trauma to the abdominal area.

The girl was pronounced dead on arrival at Prague Hospital on Tuesday.

An investigation into her death was launched because officials didn't know how she died.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into her death and interviewing family members.
