A McAlester prison guard is in hot water.

He's been charged with possession of meth and a knife on prison grounds. It happened at the Jackie Brannon Correctional Center in McAlester.

Authorities say Christopher James Lyons faces several charges, including bringing contraband to the prison and possession of a controlled substance.

Lyons pleaded not guilty in criminal court. He was released on $2,500 bond.
