OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Alltel Corporation says it won't waive its early termination fee for former AT&T Wireless subscribers who switch to a competitor without giving the Arkansas-based company a try.
Alltel launched its Oklahoma City-area service in August after buying AT&T assets from Cingular. The company said then that subscribers of the former AT&T Wireless service would not be penalized for terminating their contacts early and switching to another company.
But Bill Oltean, Alltel's vice president for retail services in the Oklahoma City market, says the grace period has ended.
Oltean says the company will now impose a $175.00 early termination fee for former AT&T Wireless subscribers who switch their contracts before they are up for renewal.
