OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Governor Brad Henry is touting his accomplishments in a media campaign he's launched in his bid to be re-elected.
The governor's first television ad aired yesterday. It opens with a sound bite from Henry's first inaugural address, with him saying the state was then in the greatest budget crisis in history.
Later, an announcer says Henry balanced the budget without raising taxes, passed the largest income tax cuts in state history and increased the size of the Rainy Day Fund -- while also increasing funding for schools.
Henry listed $2.5-million in cash for TV ads and other expenses in his latest campaign report.
US Representative Ernest Istook, the Republican nominee, had about $29,000 in cash.
